THE SECOND PART OF THE SOLO EXHIBITION 'IN THE COLORS OF LIFE' HAS BEEN OPENED.
What the audience is often unaware of is Elka's invisible presence in her works. "She diligently fulfilled her role as a wife and mother like Marta, but the moment has come for Elka to become like Maria, listening to her own intuition by diving into the depths of her own being to bring forth vibrancy onto the canvas through the pouring of acrylic paint, which does not form a motif, but rather an abstract Pollock-like pattern. In this way, she seems to want to be nature itself, unlike her husband, who paints nature as an observer. Through the warm and cool colors, black-and-white contrasts, succinct brushstrokes, and spontaneous gesturality, the painter finally unites Marta and Maria within herself." This was written about Elka's works by Professor of Fine Arts, Zlatko Kozina.
Every exhibition is an opportunity for me to connect with the audience on a deeper level, so that through my works they can feel what I felt while creating them. Art, in my opinion, should not just be a visual experience. It is emotional, intuitive, and often expresses things that cannot be conveyed in words. I am extremely happy to share this phase of my artistic journey with all of you and I look forward to every interaction, every comment, and every impression that this exhibition evokes,” said artist Elka Vukojević. Elka Vukojević's exhibition at the gallery Duga in Nova Gradiška will remain open until October 25, and her husband, academic painter Josip Vukojević, known for his paintings featuring Slavonian motifs, was definitely the proudest at the opening.
