The Artistic Journey
"I was only three years old when my mother gave me paper and a pencil because she didn't know how to entertain me, considering that I was quite restless. That's when I made my first drawing - a butterfly, which they say turned out pretty well. When she showed the drawing to my father, he already knew then that I would be a painter. My mother always told that story, and today I happily repeat it to my children."
Why does everyone love the paintings of the painter Josip Vukojević?
Artist Josip Vukojević leaves an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Brod, a trace of impressionist painting that thaws the icy depths of our souls and rejuvenates our weary eyes. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Josip for imbuing this often cold and monotonous world with a touch of beauty and intrigue through his art.
Visualizing the World
"I was a child who drew energy and inspiration from nature, our folk customs, and everyday life. I was an extremely visual person who cherished the old canopy, the horses, and the barn with the animals in our yard. My upbringing was different from others; my parents and my brother, Nikola, provided significant support. What I couldn't hear, I would visualize and transfer to paper," he begins his life story."
